Nicolaus Christoph Robbe, great great grandfather of the current owner, founded the Flensburg silversmiths. He worked alone – supported only by his wife Luise – in his small workshop to produce silver cutlery and table accessories, commissioned by and based on the designs of jewellers from the Flensburg region. He was distinguished by his modesty and skill.

Silver has been used by humans since the 5th century BC. Although less rare, silver has at times been more valuable than gold. Silver has lost none of its fascination to this day. Its white colour and radiating shine continues to enrapture people today, just as it did thousands of years ago.
